The stories and pictures in this book reveal the transformation of mindsets, systems, and possibilities that took place during the Women’s Leadership and Economic Rights (WLER) project from October 2023 to October 2025.

The WLER project is supported by UN Women and the Government of Finland and builds on the legacy of Wanawake Wanaweza (Women Can), opening doors for women to lead, thrive, and shape their futures in the Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Lindi, and Mtwara regions.

Through the Grassroots Gender Transformative Networks (GGTNs), women and men have created safe spaces for dialogue, advocacy, and leadership––and local government officials have advanced gender-responsive governance.

Since October 2023, TGNP has proudly implemented this initiative, working closely with communities to turn vision into action.
